“I just have to say that having the personalized feedback is priceless and I already feel like I have a better understanding of my camera and photography in general. I was talking to some other moms the other day who said they are “professional photographers” and they said they would never do a workshop because it is easiest to just learn things on your own, but my feeling is the complete opposite. I personally feel like the guidance and feedback I have gotten from you, someone with experience, have made learning photography fun and rewarding. Learning the important elements of photography through this workshop in such a personalized way is extremely worthwhile. I also love how you have taken such a genuine interest and concern with your feedback portion of the workshop. I love it!” -Kimberly Taylor

“Heidi’s workshop has been so much fun and rewarding. The assignments are appropriate for the beginning photographer yet Heidi adds in advanced opportunities for those who are ready. I have learned so much in a short amount of time. She sends examples and helpful feedback. The text is easy to understand so it is not overwhelming. I highly recommend this workshop!”
-Aimee Mraz

I love your class. I have learned so much and I am really starting to see the shot before I take it – even when I am not holding my camera! Mark is tired of hearing me say ‘that would be an awesome picture.’ And I love that it isn’t just generic assignments. It is really helpful that you share not just composition tips, but you are also teaching me how to use my camera. Mark shares pictures of Jack at work all the time, and this week someone said to him “what is wrong with you two – do you just take your kid for professional photos every weekend??” To me, that is the best compliment to you.
-Colby Fazio

“I have always had an interest in photography for as long as I can remember and bought my first SLR a few months back with no idea how to use it out of auto mode. Since taking Heidi’s class I have learned the basics of using my camera and how to obtain quality, unique photos. Heidi is always willing to help and answers emails on just about any topic. This course has been a blessing”.
-Kim Donohue

Heidi’s workshop was highly informative and very helpful in taking my photography to the next level. I feel as though I have learned a great deal and she definitely gives the participants their money’s worth through her ongoing mentoring and feedback. I found her constructive criticism to be an invaluable tool in helping me to correct my mistakes. Heidi goes above and beyond in answering questions and making sure we understand her answers. Thank you so much, it was worth every penny! -Rebecca Coyle

I am doing a lesson in backlighting and window light for the online workshop.

William has slept with this blanket since three months of age, so this image speaks to me. I love it in black and white. I love the window light on the floor coming in from the left, too…
