we had some beautiful mornings on the beach in sanibel, but seeing the twins in spring training was definitely the highlight of our trip – we were the first there (william on the bleachers awaiting morning practice) , last to leave (walking to our car)!

beautiful snowy hayward, wisconsin in january. we spent a heaven on earth winter weekend at a friends’ cabin - steps from the birkie trail (walk out back, put your skis on!!) thanks gregg and shari. oh, and william lost his first tooth!

1. we had the exterior painted. backyard fence was removed, veggie garden removed (this really opened up the yard for the boys to play ball). screens were replaced on the porch. here it is prepped to be painted, you can see the paint is chipped on the trim from powerwashing

and after. Benjamin moore Linen White. the house looks SO great snow covered.

see – no fence. which, by the way we posted the fence on craigs list for free and a nice family with a dog and young kids removed it and hauled it away – what a great way to recycle!

I love the sky blue porch ceilings, a midnight navy front door, new doorbell and door hardware, and a cute wooden “no soliciting” sign.2. the mudroom. Scott planked the walls with 1×6’s and added a shelf. paint + new floor + curtain in place of lower cabinet doors. I love carpet in my mudroom!! everyone has their own bin for hats and gloves in the red wooden piece of furniture – less frequently used items placed on the shelf in baskets.

3. a new dining room fixture and apple on the table – thanks to kelly. i love love love it.

i am in love with my first ever point and shoot camera for the simple fact that i can take it everywhere!!

i took it to one of the last games played in the metrodome. i love the twins.

andrew is turning 5 tomorrow, happy birthday to my baby!

he wrote this in the spring and now it has spurred a craze of writing books about love in our house – daddy’s love by william, william’s love by andrew, andrew’s love by daddy and on and on.

on the page with hearts, the author kisses the subject. so on pg 3 – i get four kisses from andrew.

i don’t think i could be happier with my life.

i can’t tell how much i value these images… and i think they will become even more valuable with time, when my children are grown and i look back.

i want everyone to know that while a good digital SLR is a great investment, you CANNOT take your own family pics. not with you IN them anyway. and likely not with the artistic vision of a professional.

find a photographer whose style you like and hire them.

i am craaaazzzzy about this one. i take a ton of pics of my kids. but put them in front of another photographer’s camera (that knows how to interact with them) and look what you get.

i want to do it all over again – today!

we are home!

to our surprise, we returned to spring weather!

the highlight of our trip (well for me anyway) was our photo session with purple nickel studio
